I end up wearing black ankle boots almost everyday in the fall. I am only 5'2" so I want something that gives me a little boost, but I also hate wearing heels and I am on my feet all day long, so I can't always wear the sexiest version of the black ankle boot. I like something with a little weight, a low stacked heel, and super comfy! Can you tell which one of these is the cheapest, most expensive? Weekend in LA Part 2

During my weekend in LA my friend Danny and I decided to take a mini excursion to the island of Catalina. We took the Catalina Express ferry from Long Beach to Avalon.

Once on the island, we decided to go on a mini hike to the Wrigley Memorial and Botanical Gardens. The walk was beautiful, we saw amazing plant life and once we reached the top, the view was simply amazing!

We also rented bikes, drank cocktails, and took a nice nap on the beach. We felt like a true tourists ;)

Weekend in LA Part 1

I spent this past weekend in LA visiting one of my best friends in the world, Danny. There's nothing better than spending time with people you love ;) We started the trip at the Griffith Observatory, walking the magnificent grounds, contemplating the universe and of course, taking some fun photos!

Alexander McQueen Exhibit

I finally saw the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Savage Beauty...it blew my mind! I haven't seen anything like it in my entire life! Not only were the designs amazing, but the space the Met provided, along with the sound/music they played, the lighting, the videos, the clippings of his quotes...all of it!! It truly left me in awe. If you can't get to the show in person you can watch a video of the exhibition HERE.

Also on display at the Met, is a retrospective of Richard Serra Drawings, another one of my favorite artists!

And when you are done seeing the shows, have a nice glass of wine on the roof of the Met, here's a view I took from the top...

Have a great weekend! The weather in NY is supposed to be beautiful, so I am excited to have some fun and relax! This is a photo of some of my friends and I outside Diner in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

We went to Diner as part of our "Burger Club" tour. Once a month or so 6 of us meet at a restaurant in Brooklyn and try out their burger. We have a rating system which includes a long list of variables such as temperature accuracy, condiment accompaniment, bun quality, service and ambiance of the restaurant, presentation, etc etc, it's very sophisticated, haha, well not really :) But I have had some yummy burgers and good times over the past year and Diner certainly ranked in the top percent!

It's been a while since my last post :( A lot has been happening both work-wise and life-wise! I moved from Brooklyn, NYC to Rhode Island to work on a film for 3 months. These past few weeks have been a hectic mess of packing up my apt, moving to Rhode Island, starting a new job and simultaneously getting ready to move to a new apt in Brooklyn as well. (still haven't figured out exactly how I will get back to NYC and move my apt while being stationed in RI...) I am hoping to catch up on blogs and e-mails in this upcoming 3 day weekend! I Finally Got New Glasses!

After having these glasses for about 4 years I finally had to get some new ones, along with a stronger prescription unfortunately! I went to Eyeco Vision on bedford ave in Brooklyn (they have the cheapest and most accurate eye exam for people who are not covered by their insurance) and found these 3.1 Phillip Lim frames, I think the style is called "Yazz".

I love the ombre and they are a lot wider than my last frames which is good, the narrow frames were making me feel a little claustrophobic!

Apply Sachajuan spray wax all over to give extra texture

Flip hair upside down and use drug store aerosol hair spray all over

Wednesday Inspiration: A Story of Survival

I was driving home from work last Friday, listening to the radio, and the BBC was re-airing Carrie Gracie's 2006 interview with infamous and courageous plane crash survivor, Nando Parrado. Listening to him retell the story of his remarkable 72 DAY survival in the depths of the Andes mountains brought tears to my eyes. If you have 28 min to spare you can listen to The Interview on the BBC's website HERE. It is one of the most beautiful and inspirational stories I have ever heard in my life.

After managing to survive for over 2 months in the pit of a broken plane, enduring not only the crash, but an avalanche as well, with friends and family dying all around him, hopes of a rescue had all but diminished. Parrado and his friend Roberto Canessa decided they could not "die sitting down". Malnourished and exhausted, they decided to leave the crash site and embark on an 11 day journey through the Andes mountains in hopes of finding help.

This is a quote from his interview when he describes the moment both he and Canessa reached the top of a summit, after leaving the remaining survivors and climbing for 24 hours. He had hopes that on the other side of the mountain there would be signs of life. Instead his eyes were met with the devastating image of a never ending, snow covered mountain range.

Parrado: "The language that we used, it's not usable on a radio program you know, because it is war language, it is the language of men dying. And he just said, we have had it, we are doomed, we are dead. And he said, look we have done so many things together, let's go, let's die together, that's the only thing that's left for us. No poetry, no book, no movie, nothing. Two guys on top of a summit at 18,000ft saying let's go and die together. Luckily 10 days later after 60 miles crossing the whole range of the Andes mountains we found a peasant on a horse and he was the link to our...to the start of our rescue"

3 Questions With Fabric & Handle's Salinya

Heart Charlie: What were some of the steps on the road to you making the decision to go into production for Fabric & Handle?
Salinya: I've been making clothes, accessories, and bags for myself for so many years. It's like my big hobby. A lot of people asked where my clothes or bags came from. Some people even wanted me to make some for them, but I thought they were kidding. Then my hobby became more serious, and I built a workshop in my home. I kept making things for myself, my boyfriend, and my friends. After receiving nice compliments about my work, I thought it would be good to share this with more people. I hoped that maybe other people would love my creations. When I began designing and making bag models it took longer than I expected because I kept changing the small details. Now I have a couple of good tailors working with me so we can get things done faster, but I still put the finishing touches on every one of the bags myself.

HC: Do you have a fashion/textile background? Are you self taught? Did you have experience in production/design of bags before you started Fabric & Handle?
S: I studied Advertising at Bangkok University. I don't have a professional fashion or textile background, but I have always been passionate about fashion so I decided to work in this field. I owned a boutique in downtown Bangkok from 1999-2001. I started my company in 2004 designing and sewing garments for many clients. Then in 2006 I started my own fashion brand with some of my friends, then this year I founded my first bag brand, Fabric and Handle.

HC: What advice can you give to young girls who want to do the same?
S: Just be true to yourself and who you are. Keep doing what you love to do. Happiness is in front of you right now; just don't forget to breathe that in.

Hair Style Inspiration

I am always day dreaming about ways to change the appearance of my hair. With spring around the corner a new hair style is always tempting!

I love her short, sleek, sexy cut. This hair style would look great with the bright lipsticks I love to wear. I love how it's a little tomboy, as well as being fun to flip around from side to side :) (spotted at Into The Gloss)

I have a love and hate relationship with bangs, I used to have them for 3 years (and I loved them!) but it took forever to grow them out, and I hate the "growing out" process. But I find myself missing my bangs once again. This girl pulls off bangs better than anyone! But my hair is a lot thinner than it used to be and I am not sure bangs will work for me anymore. And who doesn't want more volume? Good 'ol, fashion, big, sexy, volume! I might buy some jumbo velcro rollers or even jumbo hot rollers and just play around with the texture of my hair before I decide on how to change the length.

3 Questions with Made By Hank's Katie Henry

Heart Charlie: What were some of the steps on the road to you making the decision to go into business for yourself and creating Made By Hank?

Made By Hank: Made By Hank is kind of the accidental business. I honestly never expected or even dreamed to be in the position I am now. The timing just worked out really well for me. I received the gift of a website for my birthday (so lucky!) the same month that I put in notice at the restaurant where I was working as a waitress. A friend of mine had told me about etsy, so I set up a shop when we set up the website. another friend of mine had a bag I had made for her, and one of the women who write for Daily Candy saw it and wrote a piece about my shop the week that it opened, so basically that was the luckiest month of my life, and it just kind of slowly built from there. I had some money saved, so instead of going back to waitressing, I just worked my butt off and made Made By Hank happen.

HC: Do you have a fashion/textile background or are you self taught? Did you have experience in production/design of bags before you started Made By Hank?

MBH: I have no fashion or textile background. about seven years ago, my roommate at the time inherited her grandmother's beautiful old singer sewing machine. She was graduating from art school and largely incorporating sewing into her senior show, and I was so inspired by all the little bits of fabric covering the first floor of our home. So I started playing around, and I just sort of fell in love with sewing and haven't stopped since! I did work for a short time at a local tote bag company as a seamstress and later as the studio manager. My time there certainly prepared me for endless hours of sewing, and made me want to move more toward making a handful of more unique (though labor intensive!) items as opposed to racing to make the largest stack of super simple lower quality bags. Since everything there was just straight lines and basic fabrics, I learned everything else on my own with trial and error (though in the beginning it was more like error and more error!) and ten years as a waitress and nanny definitely helped prepare me for the customer service aspects of my job.

HC: What advice can you give to young girls who want to do the same?

MBH: Stay true to yourself. I know it sounds silly or cliche, but with all of the imagery overload and DIY culture on the internet these days, one of the most challenging things is the copycats this seems to create. Just keep your ideas original, work hard, and stay honest. The jerks will only ever have the ideas they take from you, but you will always have fresh and new ones. The internet has afforded me so much success that I try to take the rest in stride and focus on the positive, and keep things in perspective. Dont expect things to happen magically or overnight- just work hard and stay focused. and keep your head up and your fingers crossed!

Classic Color Options

I love when a company offers a range of colors option for a single product. Like these foldable, silicone based pendant lamps, how cute are they? I want one of each color for the different rooms in my apt please! (Sold at A+R Store)

The ever popular Fjallraven packs might have everyone beat when it comes to offering one of the widest color options of a single product on the market. I love my green one, these are only some of the colors they offer. I've seen a lot of girls in NYC with the two-tone, Opening Ceremony version of these bags, I might have to pick one of those up as well!

When talking about color choices, who can forget Hunter? I like their rubber totes and the fact that their doing wedge-heeled boots now! I tried on a pair and I LOVED them! I was flirting with the idea of buying a pair of the black wedge boots, but my classic navy ones have been my wardrobe-spring-rainy-weather-staple for the past 2 years and I am not ready to move on from them quite yet!

I am still in love with air plants, or Tillandsia as they are actually called. I posted about them last year here. "Tillandsia are epiphytes and need no soil because water and nutrients are absorbed through the leaves." This basically means you can hang them from the ceiling, place them on a bookshelf, in a jar, or on a windowsill and never actually need a pot to plant them in! They literally exist in air, I love this concept...

Long Distance Relationship

My boyfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship for over a year. It's not long distance like a few hours away or even on the other side of the country. It's long distance like other side of the world! I am in NYC and he has been in Taiwan for the past 8 months, here let me show you...

We both work in the film industry, he is a production designer and I am a costume designer, we actually met working on a project together! He has been in Taiwan working on a film and I have been in NY working on my own projects. Additionally he also designs furniture and interior spaces, here is one of the stores he designed in Beijing, along with the furniture in it! Isn't he talented ? His store is called Lost and Found and if you are ever in Beijing definitely stop by!

I visited him in Beijing this past year and we had a wonderful time running around together!

He will be returning to the states in 27 days and I am so excited, the only catch is I am leaving town a week before he returns to work on a film! But luckily the film is only shooting a few hours away from NYC so he'll be able to visit on the weekends :)

I did it, I wore my straw hat the other day even tho it wasn't quite warm enough to do so! (The wind almost blew it off - haha) When you are excited about a new item it's hard to keep it confined to your room. I got my fix, but I think this hat will definitely be returning to my room and staying there until the weather reaches at least 65.

I've had this Coach bag for quite some time now and I still love it as much as the day I bought it at Stella Dallas in Brooklyn for $20.00! Also wearing one of my favorite Vena Cava shirts as seen here, and my new Jcrew Blazer.

I think I need to find a vintage clothing rack asap! (spotted at the selby)

There's no quicker way to brighten up a room and change the atmosphere than by putting down a new rug. Of course I had to do the stripes ;) In general I like this company Dash & Albert because they offer really affordable rugs. A lot of the times rugs can be quite pricey, but Dash & Albert have a nice selection of all sizes and styles for different price ranges

I also like this little polka dot rug from Urban Outfitters. Even if you don't want, or can't afford to put down a big rug, I like these smaller sized rugs to put in special places like right by your bed: having something soft on your floor for when you get out of bed in the morning is important, in front of your closet: you deserve to stand on something pretty while you are picking out your outfits, or in front of your favorite reading chair: make your reading chair a proper reading nook/haven ;)

My Hair Regime:

Wash hair

Condition (ONLY the ends, never on the roots)

Air dry/towel dry for about 7min (3min upside down)

Blow dry hair upside down, brushing hair away from me, about 7min

Apply Sachajuan Volume powder to the roots and throughout my hair directly after blow drying

Apply Sachajuan spray wax all over to give extra texture

Flip hair upside down and use drug store aerosol hair spray all over

Done! (no curling iron needed!)

The Lord Huron music video for the song, The Stranger is one of the best I've seen in a long time. The song itself is beautiful and the music video is stunning in it's scenery, costumes, and cinematography. I was disappointed that Mary Zophres did not win the Oscar for costume design for True Grit, but Colleen Atwood is definitely deserving of the title for her work in Alice In Wonderland. Spring cannot come fast enough, but I am going to take this months to search for a few key pieces that are missing from my spring wardrobe.

Clothing Swap Anyone?

I love a good old fashion clothing swap! Trading one article of clothing you never wear for something you definitely will wear without spending money is a beautiful thing ;) I've been to a few clothing swap get-togethers and I find them wildly exciting! Have you ever been to one? I've had this Diane Von Furstenberg dress hanging in my closet for 2 years and for some reason or another I have never worn it out of the house. This dress is in great condition, basically brand new, no stains, no threading, etc. Is there anyone out there who would like this dress in exchange for a piece of their own clothing of comparable value? Oscar Weekend

I am excited to watch the Oscars this weekend, I really hope Mary Zophres wins best costume design for True Grit! I have my popcorn and sweatpants all ready for Sunday night ;) I am also excited because I did a guest post for Boticca.com, an online marketplace "curated and edited by a team of fashion experts, designers, stylists, editors, bloggers, and collectors, who illustrate the culture, stories and inspirations behind the collections on the site." (excerpt taken from Boticca.com) I posted about my favorite current items on the site and wrote a little background about myself and my work, if you get a chance, you can read it HERE. On our way to see the amazing Oscar nominated film, Winter's Bone, my friend Stephanie and I took these little photos outside the Quad Cinema on 13th street.

Also if you are in NYC and want to see some Oscar nominated films go to the IFC Film Center and watch the 2011 Oscar Nominated shorts. They have 3 different showings in the categories of Documentary Shorts, Animated Shorts, and Live Action Shorts. Each short film is anywhere between 15 min to 30min and they play all the nominations back to back in that particular category. If you are not in NYC or don't have an indie film house in your town showing these, you can always see them online by downloading them on itunes. I saw the showing for Live Action Shorts and it was amazing! I loved sitting in the theatre and watching the films in that format. My favorites in the Live Action category were:

My Favorite Williamsburg Restaurant

This past weekend I ate brunch at my favorite restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, El Almacen. I love the quaint atmosphere, the waitresses are always lovely (and well dressed!), and the food never disappoints. I often get brunch here, but their dinner menu is amazing as well. Some of my favorites are the Shishito Peppers with sea salt, Tacos de Costilla, Tacos de Pescado, and Churrasco. Check out their menu HERE

This past weekend I opted for their brunch special, baked eggs with goat cheese, roasted peppers, sliced rib eye steak (it's in that pot nestled under the goat cheese), with a side of home fries and shishito peppers. My friend got their delicious hanger steak w/ eggs and truffle fries, yum!! I am already dreaming of going back this weekend

I bought these super soft cashmere leg warmers at Club Monaco for $30. I love wearing them out as well as for schlepping around my house with shorts and a comfy sweater.

I also painted my nails bright orange last night while hanging out at my friend's house and re-watching The Hangover, I still find that movie hilarious ;)

I saw a lot of things I liked when I went into Club Monaco, I really like the sock garters here. I like the idea of wearing them, but definitely below the knee! Above the knee/thigh area is too saucy for me, but there is something sweet about wearing them low ;)

Thank you for all the interesting comments on my last post, I enjoyed reading all your feedback on the world of costume design! I bought this comfy grey stripe shirt at Buffalo Exchange in Williamsburg for $10, quite a deal ;)

I am in love with these fold over totes from Makr Carry Goods, so simple, so versatile, and so functional. I love the no-fuss design, soft colors and craftsmanship.

I also love these two-tone ballet flats from Marais USA, only $64 each!

And of course this post wouldn't be complete without stripes! I am loving these stripe shirts from Uniqlo, $19.90 each - perfect staple for my spring wardrobe.

Costume Design Dream

I have been working as a costume designer/assistant designer for about 3 years. I made the decision to begin my career in costume design after I was already 3 years deep in a different career. It was a tough decision, a rocky transition, but overall the best move I have made in my life. I wake up everyday excited to get to work and meet a new challenge. I am fascinated with the use of costume design in film/television to help define a character’s identity on camera. When you are starting out it is essential to not only study the anthropology of people and the history of clothing, but to also research the work of other designers and directors to see how costume applies within the context of a film. One of my absolute favorite resources for this is the website, Clothes on Film, created by it’s editor Chris Laverty.

Clothes on Film investigates elements of costume design, film, television, and as they so perfectly put it, “screen style and identity”. The site offers gorgeous photos, behind the scenes interviews, and amazing articles on a wide range of films and television shows. You can find information on anyone from Edith Head to Colleen Atwood and costumes from a diverse selection of movies such as The Royal Tennebaums, Flashdance, The Big Lebowski, and Tron to name a few. Definitely check it out, I often read for hours!

A lot of people ask me what a costume designer is and what it is I do on a daily basis. This excerpt from the costume designer of Black Swan, Amy Westcott is a wonderful summary: "As a costume designer, you oversee every stitch that goes before the camera. You are responsible for everything, whether an item is designed by me, purchased, farmed out to a specialized item designer or a combination of all of these. I think that is greatly misunderstood. The job is a 24/7, a 5 or 6 month commitment. You are there, on set, making choices, setting the tone, and making changes – every day. You are there for the actors, to make sure they are happy, or have any questions – every day. You work very closely with the director to express his or her vision. You’re responsible for the look, making sure things are functional, making sure you are on budget, as well as managing your department. There is a great amount of consideration that goes into the stitch and shape of every costume that appears on camera. Many times an article of clothing that is essential to define a character does not exist in stores or is something you can buy already made. Another one of my current favorites is this video interview with Mary Zophres, who designed the costumes for the Coen Brother's most recent film, True Grit. The costumes in this film are definitely my favorite of the year. Watching the video and hearing her describe the design process was a wonderful treat. Her work on True Grit earned her an Oscar nomination, as well as nominations for BAFTA, Sierra award, PFCS, among others. Watch INTERVIEW HERE

I love my new ACNE sheer top I got a thrift store in Brooklyn.

And I stole the idea to wear my leather jacket as a cardigan from my friend. We were at a party and she took off her big winter coat was wearing her leather jacket over a tank top underneath. I was delighted and asked, "are you wearing that as a cardigan?!" I love my ALC (Fall 2010 collection) leather jacket which is lined with jersey cotton, but felt sad I could only wear it for a couple months out of the year. In NY you only have a few precious months in the spring before things get wickedly hot and in the fall before things get devastatingly cold to wear those fun light pieces as outwear. Now I wear my jacket as a cardigan at least 3 times a week! I am so happy to be getting more use out of it, thank you Elana for giving me the idea me to do so!

I am in love with the artwork of Erin Flannery. Her work is beautiful in it's simplicity. Her talent for portraying shapes and silhouettes with the simplest line gesture and color takes my breath away. Her blog, cutyourownfringe is equally inspiring, definitely check it out!

I love how her work suggest a sensation of style, without being too specific. It makes the girls in these portraits feel timeless and classic.

...and I am the proud owner of this piece! I use it as a source of inspiration for my job. I am able to see something new every I look at it...Audrey Hepburn, David Bowie, the 80's, the future, NYC, the simplicity of Calvin Klein, the avante-garde of Alaia, and the list goes on. I think it's important to have images in your life that are as versatile as your mind is.

On a different note, does anyone know of a good bead or jewelry making supply store in NYC?

Love This Look: Ankle Length

I am a pretty short person, 5'2" to be exact :) Most of the time I have to hem my pants, jeans, skirts, and dresses to have them hit at the right length for my proportion. I was about to do my usual hem for a pair of vintage Levi's I found at a thrift store when I came across this photo and got inspired to take the hemline up just a couple more inches.

I loved how her jeans were ankle length and completely straight leg, no tapered look, no bootleg, just perfectly straight. The "little boy" look of these jeans really inspired me. I also wear ankle boots a lot, so taking up the hemline of my jeans just a few more inches has been a great way to avoid all that bunching that happens around the ankle when I wear jeans + ankle boots combo. Here's a photo of my ankle length hemline experience. They are so easy to wear, I think I am going to take up the length on a few more pairs of pants! Weirdly enough, this ankle length actually makes me feel taller!

If I am having denim work done I go to Loren, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. (photo below) They can do just about anything when it comes to custom denim.

Last night I saw Blue Valentine, Starring Michele Williams and Ryan Gosling. This movie was break-you-heart magnificant, in the saddest and best way possible. I felt like it was one of the most honest depictions of what some relationships can turn into if you are not careful with each other.

I bought this big 'ol necklace from Oak in Williamsburg about a month ago and have been having fun adding it to my simple outfits. Being 2011 and all I thought I would try to step outside my comfort zone, just a little :)

I am hoping not to overwhelm myself, but I also think it's important to have goals in mind that help to push the boundaries of what you think you can achieve. I am hoping to surprise myself in a good way!

Today, Dec. 21, my boyfriend and I finally took the air conditioner out of my bedroom window! I feel very accomplished :) A lot of the times in the winter I love wearing a second layer, helps to keep warm. I'll still do the one big warm layer sometimes, a sweater or turtleneck, but there's something about having multiple layers that makes going inside and outside a bit easier.

It's so chilly in NY! I got these super warm drawstring cargo pants from JCrew and I have been living in them.

I love my Fiorentini and Baker boots, but the heels start to bother me midday, especially since I am always on foot in NYC. You have to check out these tips for how to relieve sore feet after wearing heels all day from Real Simple. I seriously do these exercises every night and my feet feel so good afterwards!

The combination of these faux shearling lined Sperry Top-Siders and socks make me happy ;)

I just put a hurting on my bank account by shopping the sale at Barneys Co-Op in Chelsea. I got this fun Vena Cava shirt and these super soft Citizens of Humanity jeans. I am also in love with Muji socks, so warm and comfy.

(yes I like to wear inside-out long sleeve shirts under my short sleeve shirts in the winter :))

And in a perfect world I would be able to afford this Rag and Bone coat ;)

I love my new pants, I got them at Beacon's Closet in Williamsburg. They were originally a wide leg, then I sewed in a cuff and tapered the leg down the back. I feel like I'm in a marching band ;)

I'm Back, Wearing Black!

Work is winding down and I'm starting get my life back piece by piece. I love and hate how freelance work can be at once, a whirlwind of frenzy, and then a sea of calm. I go back and forth between feeling completely in control and completely out of control!

I rarely ware all black, I love the way it looks on other people, but I can never quite pull it off. Even with this outfit I had to add my red lipstick and beige belt ;)

Window Shopping

I have been looking for some comfy everyday shoes and I finally bought a pair of these Seychelles at Shoe Market in Williamsburg, BK. I bought them a 1/2 size big so I can fit my insoles and wooly socks in them ;)

I also did a little window shopping and went to Uniqlo to try on this Jil Sander double layer, 3 way coat (perfect for NYC in the winter). I loved loved it, but alas it's a bit too pricey for me at the moment...

I have been watching so many episodes of Arrested Development lately that I have developed quite the frozen chocolate covered banana craving. (If you've seen the show you understand, if you haven't, trust me you can't get through a full season without wanting a frozen chocolate covered banana!)

I love this recipe b/c it's quick, easy, and yummy! And I love Arrested Development b/c Jason Bateman cracks me up :)

My current job is designing costumes for a fictional, sports-based television show. Part of my job as the costume designer is to research the history of clothing. I do this to have a better understanding of the garment itself and the life of the person who is wearing it. Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Work has been intense and challenging as usual. I am finishing up a big project that has me left feeling overwhelmed and at times like I am a sinking ship. I think some of the most challenging experiences are the hardest ones to conquer. I know I will learn a lot from finishing this project, but at the moment it feels impossible and I am feeling a bit lost.

Hello and my apologies for lack of blogging and blog reading lately :( I am hoping to catch up on everything in the upcoming week. I am finishing up one job and starting another, freelancing can be exciting, but quite exhausting! My favorite part of designing costumes is the very beginning, the research phase. It is during the research phase that you really get to know the characters. This process is continuous and it develops as the job goes on. But there is something so refreshing about that first week, where anything is possible and you have the whole project in front of you.
