We both work in the film industry, he is a production designer and I am a costume designer, we actually met working on a project together! He has been in Taiwan working on a film and I have been in NY working on my own projects. Additionally he also designs furniture and interior spaces, here is one of the stores he designed in Beijing, along with the furniture in it! Isn't he talented ? His store is called Lost and Found and if you are ever in Beijing definitely stop by!

He will be returning to the states in 27 days and I am so excited, the only catch is I am leaving town a week before he returns to work on a film! But luckily the film is only shooting a few hours away from NYC so he'll be able to visit on the weekends :)

Hooray! Reunions are always great.

ReplyDeletesweet!! and I really love the interiors!
ReplyDeletecool that both of you are working as designers! :)
You guys really are such a cute couple. So sweet that you can be together again!
ReplyDeleteAwww, how sweet!! I didn't know your boyfriend was in Taiwan - I was studying there for six months last year, and I had to do long distance with my boyfriend in that time too. It was tough, but it made us stronger too :) I'm sure that will be the same with you & your bf! So happy for you that the wait is over! :)
ReplyDeleteI bet you two exchange super cool souvenirs! And I hope Taiwan stays safe and tsunami-free.
ReplyDeleteThat's really sweet! That's an amaazzzing store.
ReplyDeleteaw damn that is HARD! i thought arizona and new york was bad. so cute you guys have been making it work though :)

This is so wonderful. I really admire you and your boyfriend working through this. It is tough and rewarding. Rewarding, not only in the love that comes from it, but in watching how bold you can be to take the unconventional path.
ReplyDeleteI hope to visit that store some day, it looks really cozy!!!
xoxo,
Justine
how sweet! Is he returning to stay or returning to visit????
ReplyDeletei was in a long distance relationship for quite awhile -- i know how tough it can be! on-line scrabble is one of the best distance dates, though! :)
ReplyDeleteyou two look so cute together!
That's a beautiful story ! Enjoy the reunion, it's oh so wonderful ! :-)
ReplyDeleteAw that pic of you two is so cute. Love is wonderful and I know that special someone is worth it!
ReplyDeleteOh Charlie, bless you both! That must be amazingly hard to cope with and I'm so happy for you that he's back really soon.
ReplyDeleteThis is too adorable. If you two ever get married, you would have the most artistically inclined children in the world. I love the interior design of that space - and I always thought the only creative men in the world were all gay. I know my boyfriend has no idea how to decorate an interior space, or even arrange his bedroom. And it's amazing how you guys hold up despite the distance - it's really cute!

ReplyDeletelong distance relationships are SOOO hard. my husband and i were long distance (within the US) for about a year and a half before got married. i remember looking forward to his visits and feeling so sad when they were over. this was well before the days of skype and online chats or even text messaging (i realize that makes me seem old, but we married young at 23 and 24 and now i'm 36). here's to those 27 days flying by so you'll see him soon.
ReplyDeletexo
Aw. That's sweet. I'm glad to hear that despite the obstacles the distance must create, you sound very much happily in love - and that your relationship is going strong and well. ♥
ReplyDeletesuch a cute photo! you two lead such cool lives, even if they are tiring and you have to be separated sometimes, you're still the coolest! :)
ReplyDeleteah! that's wonderful. my bf and i have been a ldr since i started college. i'm lucky that he still lives in my hometown and we see each other during breaks!
ReplyDeleteMust be hard to have such a long distance relationship! But it'll make the times you spend together even more sweet. And he's very talented! You guys are cute :)

that's so exciting! i was once in a long-distance relationship and it was definitely tough (especially with the time differences). but it's true what they say about absence making the heart grow fonder. once you see that person, it's the best! and what an adorable picture of both of you.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome that you guys were able to work through the long distance! I'm happy for you that you guys will be back on the same continent :) He definitely is very talented - I love the look of that store he designed! It just looks so cozy and relaxing.

ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like both of you have amazing jobs! It's so romantic that you two can have a great relationship for over a year on long-distance! He must be such a sweet guy and so in love with you! Aww..man, that just reminds me how lonely I am! lol.. just kidding. It's so exciting you'll be able to see him soon! xoxoxoo
ReplyDeletehe is very talented. that space is beautiful...
ReplyDeleteyou make me feel better about my cross country relationship...san fran and boston are not quite as far as what you guys are doing but i still relate :)
so cute.
ReplyDeleteI remember this! You guys are so cute, and he is SO talented!! A and I did long distance almost our entire dating relationship, but nowhere near China vs USA! More like NYC vs NC. Have fun counting down...I'm sure you are thrilled!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. And love your blog.

Oh that must be hard. I understand, one of my best friends dates a guy who lives in Hong Kong (we live in Paris) for one year and a half.
ReplyDeleteWill you live together soon? I mean, is it the plan?
I was lucky, my boyfriend was living abroad too, but just in Germany (he is german), so it was 7hours or something. Now he moved to Paris :)
You too look very cute, and I have to say your boyfriend is damn good, the shop he did is so beautiful!
Congratulations :)
hooray for the light at the end of the tunnel in long distance relationships! My bf and I have been long distance for the past 2 years (only across the country...nothing like across the globe!), and are both moving to LA this fall!
ReplyDeleteAww, you 2! His projects look like he's immensely talented. How wonderful must it be for you to get together again!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I can only imagine the passion going through your veins!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! Really love the space and furniture he designed!

that is a great looking store! very nice work by your boy :)
ReplyDeletep.s. you two are too cute!! thanks for sharing your long-distance story.
With my german boyfriend? Not really a long distance because we didn't have any jet lag, which was kind of practicle. But yes we didn't see each other very often because I have a lot of work and it takes 8hours from my place to his place...
ReplyDeleteWe were together for like 8months when he left everything (his studies, his family and his country) to live with me here. What decided him was that I searched for studies for him. Things he couldn't do in Germany. So now he is learning french and he will hopefully go to a cinema university next year.
I am sure as soon as his projects will end you will get back together. :) Work is important of course, but so much less than relationships. As soon as you don't live in the streets it's great! No need to have the perfect job on the other side of the earth!
wauw! his furniture is amazing! i just bookmarked his site. Enjoy your time together.
ReplyDeleteAw I adore the kissing picture! SO CUTE. I love that you made this blog post about him. I can't wait for you to be reunited with him. Absence makes the heart grow wayyyyy fonder, right? :] <3
ReplyDeleteReally touching. The best part in a long distance relationship is getting to finally meet each other. yey! happy for you.
ReplyDeleteLDR works honey! :) trust me!
