And I stole the idea to wear my leather jacket as a cardigan from my friend. We were at a party and she took off her big winter coat was wearing her leather jacket over a tank top underneath. I was delighted and asked, "are you wearing that as a cardigan?!" I love my ALC (Fall 2010 collection) leather jacket which is lined with jersey cotton, but felt sad I could only wear it for a couple months out of the year. In NY you only have a few precious months in the spring before things get wickedly hot and in the fall before things get devastatingly cold to wear those fun light pieces as outwear. Now I wear my jacket as a cardigan at least 3 times a week! I am so happy to be getting more use out of it, thank you Elana for giving me the idea me to do so!
(I got this ALC leather jacket at Barney's Co-op last year)
That sheer top is GORGEOUS. And thank you for the tip -- I have the softest leather jacket that I've only worn a few times (I'm either in NY or Chicago, which is just as bad) and I can't wait to try this!

ReplyDeleteI've been wearing my blazer as a cardigan throughout this winter, but it never occurred to me that a leather jacket could do the same trick! I'll have to try it, but my leather jacket is a little looser fitting and might be too much bulk underneath my parka.... great idea nevertheless!
